Saturday, August 4

On August 4, people of all ages are invited to work with our friends at Together for Hope Arkansas and Second Baptist Little Rock to help children in Phillips County celebrate going back to school.  This will be the fifth year that we have provided this opportunity, however, things will be different this year.  For 2018, we will serve in the city of Helena and partner with Freeman Playground on their School Supplies Saturday where last year they gave out supplies to 300 children and served over 500 families.  Together for Hope has asked us to once again offer interactive stations to help get the children excited about school and learning.  Stations in the past have included reading, sports, dance, music, crafts, story-writing and more. Station options are only limited by our volunteers, their interests and skills. We promise, if you have a skill or interest that can benefit children, we can find a way to use it in this ministry.  This mission opportunity is open to children, youth and adults of all ages.  Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation but we encourage car-pooling. For more information, questions or to sign-up, contact Daniel Johnson at djohnson@2ndmemphis.org.
