This summer many from our Second family have been reading Kathy Izard’s book, The Hundred Story Home: A Memoir of Finding Faith in Ourselves and Something Bigger. In September, our congregation is partnering with MIFA to welcome Izard to Memphis and lead a community forum called “Homelessness Here and Now.”
Across our community, book clubs, civic groups, congregations, classes, and
individuals are reading The Hundred Story Home and convening discussions on this uplifting story of a call to social action and the author’s personal struggle with faith, forgiveness, and fulfillment.
Here at Second, Stephen Cook will convene a discussion of Izard’s book on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:00 p.m. Come join the conversation as we continue exploring ways our lives intersect with our neighbors’ and the impact we can make in our community.
