Worship
“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the … first commandment.”
Worship is central to the life of a Christian.
At Second, we gather weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. to foster community, be challenged spiritually and to seek divine hope and rest for our souls.
We gather in one service because the church is one of the last places in our culture where children can see multiple generations together and because all adults are responsible for passing down the faith from generation to generation.
We follow the Christian calendar, a rhythm familiar to some and new to others, because it provides a spiritual structure for worship and an invitation to journey through Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany; Ash Wednesday, Lent, Holy Week, and Easter; and Pentecost.
We engage children in worship by offering a children’s sermon for all children and a children’s chapel for children in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. Worship care is available for children 6 weeks through three years of age.
Come and see what worship is like on Sundays at Second.
